Dragon Boat Festival: Dragon Boat Racing and Zongzi Making

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu or Tuen Ng, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month in the traditional Chinese calendar. The origins of this festival date back to ancient times when it was believed that a great poet named Qu Yuan jumped into a river to end his life after being rejected by his ruler. People were so grief-stricken that they rowed out onto the river in dragon boats to search for him.

Over time, people began holding races with these dragon boats as part of their efforts to locate Qu Yuan's body. Today, dragon boat racing remains an important part of this festival. Another tradition associated with the Dragon Boat Festival is making zongzi (sticky rice dumplings). These are triangular-shaped packages made from glutinous rice flour filled with various ingredients such as meat or sweet fillings.

They are typically wrapped in bamboo leaves and boiled before being served at festivals like this one.

Seven.Qixi Festival: A Celebration of Love and Filial Piety

Qixi Festival is celebrated annually on August 30th according to China's lunar calendar. It marks a special day where women pray for good fortune in love and marriage while men pay tribute to their mothers.

The story behind Qixi comes from Chinese mythology about two star-crossed lovers who defied fate and fell deeply in love despite belonging different celestial realms - Weaving Maiden (Vega) and Cowherd (Altair).

To make sure Weaving Maiden could reunite with her lover once every year, Chang'e became her guardian angel on earth by hiding them away from other gods' eyesight during their secret meetings under a beautiful willow tree called "Zhiweiyu" located between heaven's gateways.

In modern times, Qixi has evolved into an occasion honoring filial piety towards parents; especially sons give gifts such as fruit trees or potted plants symbolizing health & prosperity around home environment which brings joy for entire family members alike!
